Happy Mondays and frontman of The Stone Roses Ian Brown are set to perform at an inaugural music event in Warrington. The two Manchester icons will play at ‘Live at the Big Top’  which is organised by the team behind Neighbourhood Weekender.

This is also a landmark occasion as it is the first time ever that Ian Brown and Happy Mondays appear on the same bill. The Victoria Park event is set to take place on Friday May 26.

Also performing at Live at the Big Top is indie rock band Cast. Formed in Liverpool in 1992, Cast will bring their classic back catalogue to Warrington.

Opening up on the night are up and coming ones to watch CVC. The Welsh psych-rock band are very much up there as a ‘one to watch’ for the year ahead.

Tickets for the first ever ‘Live at the Big Top’ go on sale at 9.30am on Friday February 10. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Live At The Big Top precedes Neighbourhood Weekender, which takes place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May at Victoria Park. Headlined by Pulp, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott, and The Kooks, the event will also see much-loved artists such as The Wombats, Self Esteem, Jamie Webster, Ocean Colour Scene and Sea Girls perform.
