Shark-lovers are being given the chance to win their dream proposal - by popping the question in an underwater tunnel surrounded by their favourite creatures.

It’s all being done to coincide with Shark Awareness Day, July 14, at SEA LIFE Manchester.  Everything will be kept a secret from the unsuspecting winner’s other half, as the loved-up couple get to experience the whole aquarium to themselves after hours.

At this private ‘Sharks After Dark’ VIP experience, marine experts will teach the couple all about the incredible creatures around them. The fiancés-to-be will then get to spend one-on-one time with each other and the sharks as part of the unforgettable romantic evening for two, before the winner gets down on one knee.

For those who may be feeling slightly nervous, the aquarium's resident diver will be on hand to hold a ‘Will you marry me?’ sign up to the underwater window, helping to pop the big question.

Jenn McDonough, General Manager at SEA LIFE Manchester said: “We’re so excited to offer one lucky couple the chance to experience our ‘Sharks After Dark’ experience before the proposal of a lifetime takes place in our underwater ocean tunnel, to mark Shark Awareness Day.

“Whether you’re relishing being in the company of your favourite creature or just after a unique way to ask the all-important question, this underwater proposal will certainly be a moment to remember.”

Romantics have until midnight on July 31 to enter the competition
