A large number of people will take to the streets of Manchester next week

A total of 21 separate marches will take place across the country on Saturday January 18. The Manchester event is set to start in the heart of the city, by Manchester Cathedral, at 12pm.

The peaceful protest is expected to be attended by many people from Manchester and the surrounding areas who are passionate about advocating for women’s rights and gender equality. The march will feature speeches from local organisers and a vibrant display of banners and signs, all united in the call for change. Participants are encouraged to bring their voices, energy, and support as the community comes together to stand in solidarity with women worldwide.

Alison Campbell, Co-Lead Organiser for the Manchester march said: “I believe that having rights as a woman is not a given even if we currently have won some. You have to keep on fighting otherwise they can be snatched away. That is what we are seeing now; hard won rights being torn away and women having their potential squashed. I march for all women and girls everywhere because we all deserve to live our lives fully, free of oppression.”
