Manchester Giants basketball team to meet fans at Printworks

The team is hoping to drum up support for its latest campaign by showcasing the sport at a leading entertainment venue.

Manchester’s professional basketball team is getting out and about meeting existing and potential fans in the city centre this weekend.

On the eve of the new season the Manchester Giants will be in leading entertainment venue the Printworks on Saturday 25 September to raise the profile of the exciting, high-scoring sport.

There will be opportunities to meet the players as well as test their skills against those of their heroes.

What is happening at the event?

Manchester Giants will take over the Pump Yard in the Printworks between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday.

Fans will be able to get up close and personal with autograph signing and photo opportunities.

They will also have the chance to try out their shooting skills by taking on some of the Giants players in games of mini basketball.

Manchester Giants’ new signings Will Saunders and Josh Steel will be in attendance in addition to fan-favorite Jack Hudson.

What else do I need to know about the Giants?

The Manchester Giants compete in the British Basketball League (BBL), the top flight of the sport in the UK.

Home games are played in a 2,000-capacity arena at the National Basketball Performance Centre at Belle Vue Sports Village.

The team will be hoping to improve on its 10th place showing in last year’s league campaign.

The first home match of the season is a BBL Cup tie against the Newcastle Eagles on October 3.
