Manchester Arndale Christmas 2022 opening times: when centre is open and closed between Christmas & New Year

Whether you’re doing some last minute Christmas shopping in the run up to the big day or bargain hunting in the January sales, the go-to retail spot in Manchester city centre over the festive period is the Arndale centre.

With over 240 shops and dozens of restaurants, it’s the ideal place to pick up a treat for yourself or your loved ones. And at this time of year it’s busier than ever. Here’s what you need to know about the Arndale’s opening times over the next few weeks.

From now until 23 December, the shops will be open 9am-9pm on Monday to Fridays, and 11:30am-5:30pm on Sunday. The food court and restaurants will open at the later times of 8am-10pm on Monday to Fridays, and 9am-7pm on Sundays.

On Christmas Eve (Saturday 24 December) shops will open at 9am and shut early at 5pm. Eateries will be open 8am and also shut at 5pm.

The Arndale is closed on Christmas Day (Sunday 25 December). It reopens again on Boxing Day (Monday 26 December) at 8am, with shops closing at 9pm and restaurants closing at 7pm.

Tuesday 27 December is a bank holiday, so if you’re a pro bargain hunter and want to be first in line for the best deals, the shops open at 6am, closing at 9am. Eating establishments will be open 9am to 7pm.

Between Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 December, shops are open 9am-9pm, and restaurants 8am-10pm.

On New Year’s Eve (Saturday 31 December), shops open at 9am, eateries at 8am, and everything shuts early at 5pm.

Everyone deserves a lie-in on New Year’s Day (Sunday 1 January), so shops open at 11:30am and shut at 5:30pm, but restaurants are open 9am-7pm.

Monday 2 January is another bank holiday and the opening times are 10am-6pm for shops and 9am-7pm for restaurants.

On Tuesday 3 January, normal service will resume. Shops are open 9am-8pm on Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm on Saturday and 11:30am-5pm on Sunday.
