Manchester’s Legoland Discovery Centre is looking for a talented young builder to compete for the chance to become the UK’s Mini Master Model Builder.

The competition, now in its second year, is open to anyone under the age of 18 with a passion for Lego. The winner of the Manchester competition will go head to head with the winner from the Birmingham heat to be crowned with the coveted title.

Each entry will be judged by the current Mini Master Model Builder, Luke Harrison. He said: “I’m incredibly excited to help with the search for the UK’s newest Mini Master Model Builder and see all of the incredible talent out there.

“I loved every minute of last year’s competition and I genuinely couldn’t believe that I won, so now it’ll be really fun to find the next Mini Master Model Builder! While it’s a challenging competition, it’s a very exciting experience, especially if you love planning and building as much as I do.

“For anyone entering the 2024 Mini Master Model Builder competition, my biggest piece of advice is to have a plan and let yourself have fun! Also, don’t be afraid to showcase your skills and add interesting pieces – I used a toilet seat as a bull’s nose ring and it worked really well.”

How to take part

For a chance at winning the title, candidates must visit the competition area of Manchester’s Legoland Discovery Centre, which will be open on weekends between Saturday 6 January to Sunday 4 February, and create their best Lego sculpture.
