I went to Luminiscence and it was the most amazing celebration of Manchester
Yesterday, I went to check out the brand-new 360 degrees standing light show experience in Manchester Cathedral known as Luminiscence.
This is Luminiscence’s UK debut with a full transformation of Manchester Cathedral into a beautiful immersive world of sound and light. Featuring new choral arrangements of iconic Manchester songs performed by Collectives Gospel Choir, a specially commissioned script by BAFTA Award winner Tim Whitnall, and narration by legendary Manchester actor Christopher Eccleston, this 360° video projection experience brings the Cathedral to life in breath taking ways.

The best part of this brand-new exhibition is the sense of pride it brings to be here in Manchester as the history of our people and the land we are on is laid out by none other than the brilliant Christopher Eccleston.

I was truly taken away by the angelic voices of the Collectives Gospel Choir who sang top Manchester favourites such as Don’t Look Back in Anger, One Day Like This and Bitter Sweet Symphony. The choir sang collectively but also individually for various songs and it was a real treat to hear such iconic songs sang so beautifully.
The light show itself is a lovely artistic display with starry night skies and bee-filled gardens amongst the scenes you can see.
Overall, the show is absolutely wonderful and with a bar inside the cathedral itself, you can make this event a true evening out with friends and family.
