Brewers and industry experts will be coming to the city to teach eager fans a bit more about the modern craft beer scene and what goes into its tipples.

Why is Class In Session happening?

Cloudwater says the event is a is a month-long celebration of the classic beers and trailblazing breweries who laid the foundations for the modern beer scene.

A series of events aimed at different levels of expertise will be held at the brewery’s headquarters on the Piccadilly Trading Estate.

“We’ve developed a reputation as one of the leading lights in Manchester’s independent beer scene so we feel a responsibility to help enthuse more people about modern beer by sharing our team’s wealth of knowledge and experience,” said Cloudwater marketing and engagement manager Connor Murphy.

“We want folks to have those same lightbulb moments we had, when you sit down with a beer that sparks a newfound passion and starts you out on an exciting journey of exploration.”

What is happening?

Class In Session starts on 8 September when Matthew Curtis, author of the recently-published Modern British Beer, turns up at the Unit 9 tap room for The Evolution of Modern IPA.

The evening will provide a closer look at one of the most-talked-about styles in modern beer, with Matthew exploring IPA’s development, debunking some myths and looking at classic examples.
