Happy Mondays are heading back on tour, with a hometown gig on the cards

Manchester icons Happy Mondays are known for their enthusiasm and passion on stage, and fans in the city are in for a treat. The band have announced a huge UK tour in 2024 during which they will play at the O2 Victoria Warehouse. 

Joining Happy Mondays on tour will be Inspiral Carpets and Stereo MC’s. The full tour schedule has been announced, and the Manchester date is pencilled in for April 4 2024.

The band, who were formed in Salford, were a vital part of the thriving Madchester music scene. Their post-punk sound has made sure Happy Mondays are with fans that span the generations. 

Happy Mondays consist of front man Shaun Ryder, drummer Gary Whelan, Paul Davis on keyboard, and guitarist Mark Day, second vocalist Rowetta and percussionist Bez. They have released five albums in total, with the last being introduced to the world in 2007. 

The band are most well known for their tracks ‘Twenty Four Hour Party People’, ‘Step On’ and ‘Kinky Afro’. In just over 40 years, with some time apart mixed in, Happy Mondays remain one of the longest standing bands from a golden era of music.
