Oldham Athletic FC will once again host a charity football match for the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing. The club’s Boundary Park home will welcome a team of footballing legends to face a celebrities XI.

The stadium hosted the event last year, and fans had a great afternoon of footballing entertainment. Ahead of the 3pm kick off this year, bands will take to the pitch to perform - these are set to be announced at a later date.

In 2023, The celebrities’ team featured former boxing world champion Ricky Hatton, Calum Best, Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas, Jay Kontzle and Joe-Warren Plant from Emmerdale, Dan Osbourne, Nick Pickard, MasterChef winner Simon Wood and Love Island’s Dom Lever. Former Blackburn Rovers defender Colin Hendry, ex-Manchester United player Clayton Blackmore were amongst the legends line-up.

This year, Hatton will return to play as will Emmerdale actor Jay Kontzle. Love Island's Tom Clare will also take to the Boundary Park pitch. In addition to this, organisers have said that the headline music act will be announced at 7pm on February 27.

Tickets are on sale for the event which takes place on Sunday July 28 2024. These are priced at £10 for adults and £5 concessions and can be purchased through the Oldham Athletic website.
