Freight Island is gearing up for big weekend of events – including free festival and F1 fanzone

There’s a big weekend of events coming up at Freight Freight Island on July 7-9 that includes a free all-day-to-night festival, a massive British Grand Prix fan zone and a fashion pop-up.

The festival season is now in full swing at Freight Island with Better Days returning on Saturday 8-Sunday 9 July. The upcoming instalment features some of the underground music scene’s best new talent. Expect house and disco sets from the likes of Maurice Fulton, Red Rack’em, Rebecca Vasmant and Aleena Arpels on the Saturday, and Boston Bun (Ed Banger), Kirollus, Iraina Mancini, Ruf Dug and Matty White on the Sunday.

The festival is free and will last from 12-10pm. Guests can also enjoy food and drink from the wide selection of vendors, family entertainment and all-day dancing.

Next up is the Formula 1 British Grand Prix Fanzone, which is hosted by tech company OKX, the primary partner of the McLaren F1 team. As well as full weekend coverage of the race, with commentary from expert MCs.

F1 fans will also have the opportunity to win prizes like prizes, including signed merch and tours of the MTC, and have a go in an F1 simulator. You can also get your photo taken on a F1 podium with a driver’s helmet and trophies.

The event will be taking place all weekend Friday 7 July to Sunday 9 July, from 11:30am to 6pm. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance online.

Finally, independent fashion brand Daisy Street will be holding a pop-up in the Plant Room at Freight Island on Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 July. Guests can expect exclusive offers and freebies.
