Worldwide pop sensation Dua Lipa is heading to Manchester, as she continues her world tour.

The tour is in aid of her album, ‘Future Nostalgia’ which was released in 2020, and has been travelling all over the United States, but is soon to be coming back to the UK to embark on her UK tour.

When is Dua Lipa performing in Manchester?

The New Rules songstress is heading to Manchester for just one performance, and will be performing at the Manchester AO Arena on April 15, 2022.

Lipa is no stranger to performing in Manchester, as she performed two shows at O2 Apollo Manchester in 2018.

Where else is she performing?

The Manchester performance is the first of her UK tour. After Manchester, she will head to Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow and more, with the UK tour ending in May at the O2 in London

The support act for her show in Manchester will be Tove Lo, Griff and Angèle. Tove Lo is a 34-year-old Swedish singer, known for her raw, grunge-influenced take on pop music.

Griff is a 21-year-old singer, who in 2021 won the Brit award for Rising Star.

And finally, Angèle is a 26-year-old singer from Belgium, who featured on a song with Dua Lipa in 2020 titled ‘Fever’.

Who is Dua Lipa?

Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter.

She was born to Kosovan Albanian parents, and her name translates to ‘Love’.

In 2014, she signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records, and released her debut album in 2017. The album peaked at number three on the UK albums chart and included songs such as New Rules, IDGAF which put her in the spotlight.

‘New Rules’ shot to number one on the singles charts, and peaked at number six in the United States. Years on, the album has been certified platinum in numerous countries worldwide, and won the singer Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artists and British Breakthrough Act in 2018.

2018 really catapulted Lipa into worldwide fame, her single ‘One Kiss’ with Calvin Harris hit number one in the UK and was the year’s longest running number one by a female artist, and also won the 2019 Brit Award for Song of the Year. In 2019, Lipa bagged her first grammy award, for the coveted Best New Artists.

Her album in 2020, Future Nostalgia, really cemented her place as one of the best artists in the world. Her song on the album ‘Don’t Start Now’ was the most commercially successful song by a female artist in the United States in 2020, with her song from the album named ‘Levitating’ reaching number on the United States year end chart in 2021.
