Davis Cup Manchester: fixtures and results from World Cup of Tennis at AO Arena as Great Britain top group

The Davis Cup takeover of Manchester’s AO Arena has begun, and the matches come thick and fast. For six days, fixtures involving two of Great Britain, France, Switzerland and Australia will be fought on the arena floor. 

All teams have played their first games, with France opening up on day 1 with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Switzerland. Home nation Great Britain didn’t have it all their own way against Australia, but they did enough to win the fixture 2-1 overall.

Each day will see two nations face each other in three matches, two singles games and then a doubles match. The play gets underway at 1pm each day and the matches are intense as sides battle it out for the all important points. 

Davis Cup Manchester fixtures and results

The tennis at AO Arena got underway on Tuesday September 12, and the action will conclude on Sunday September 17. The fixtures and results of the week are below: 

  • September 12: France 3-0 Switzerland 
  • September 13: Australia 1-2 Great Britain
  • September 14: France 1-2 Australia
  • September 15: Great Britain 2-1 Switzerland
  • September 16: Australia 3-0 Switzerland 
  • September 17: Great Britain 2-1 France

How to watch Great Britain at The Davis Cup in Manchester

Great Britain’s remaining matches at the AO Arena will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. What must be noted is that the coverage will not be available through BBC TV channels, but online only.
