The wait for the The Davis Cup in Manchester is almost over, and thousands of tennis fans will descend on the AO Arena. The tennis starts on September 12 and runs through the week until Sunday September 17.

To add to the tennis party coming to the city, a Davis Cup Fan Village will be open in Manchester’s Cathedral gardens. Located near to the National Museum of Football and juts a two minute walk from Victoria, the village will have all sorts on to get you excited for the action.

The event, which is completely free, opens up on Saturday September 9. Here are some of the things you can expect to experience in the village.

Playing Tennis

If you want to get fully involved in the action and play some tennis yourself, the village gives you that chance. Mini tennis courts will be set up throughout the week at the village and coaches will be on hand to give tips on how to improve your game.

Watching the games live

A big screen in the village will show coverage of all the action from the Davis Cup at the AO Arena. You can catch the action with family and friends in a truly city centre setting. Throughout the week organisers have said there will be a host of exclusive video features – including interviews, analysis and coaching tips – for you to enjoy.

Food and drink

With a wide range of food and drink vendors at the village, there will be plenty of options. You can either get your fill before heading over to the arena, or enjoy a bite when watching the games on screen in the village.
