Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon prepares to tread the boards in new role - and everybody’s talking about it

Former Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon is set to tread the boards as she joins the cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie as it sets off on a UK tour.

The bubbly actress, who played Andrea Beckett on the Manchester based ITV soap, will be taking on the role of Miss Hedge, the teacher of lead character Jamie New, a role that she previously performed in the West End.

The actress will be appearing in the show between September 7 and November 25 2023, and will be visiting venues in Salford, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds and Brighton, among others.

Hayley joined the cast of Coronation Street as Steve McDonald‘s (Simon Gregson) new friend Andrea, much to the jealousy of Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).

However Andrea ultimately ended up falling for Lloyd Mullaney (Craig Charles), who she left the street with after learning that they were expecting a baby. Hayley has also appeared in Yorkshire based ITV soap Emmerdale, where she played Delilah Dingle.

Jamie lives on a council estate in Sheffield and doesn’t quite fit in. But Jamie is going to be a sensation. Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

The show is set to an original score of catchy pop tunes by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling.

Following a record-breaking three-year West End residency, sold out UK & Ireland Tour and Amazon studios award-winning film - the show opens at The Lowry on 7 September 2023.

The show will be visiting Sunderland, Nottingham, Bromley, Birmingham, Cardiff, Brighton, Leeds, Blackpool, Llandudno, Oxford, Southampton, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Woking, London, Bristol, Plymouth, Sheffield, Liverpool, Eastbourne, Portsmouth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Northampton and Leicester with further tour dates to be announced.
