Comic Relief 2023: how to be in the audience for BBC Salford shows for Red Nose Day with Tom Grennan

The BBC is inviting people who want to be part of the audience in this year’s Comic Relief TV coverage to apply for tickets now.

Two shows will be pre-recorded at the BBC’s Salford studios ahead of Red Nose Day 2023 on Friday 17 March. The first pre-rec on Wednesday 15 March will centre around a celebration of 35 years of Comic Relief’s comedy. It will be recorded from 6.50pm on 15 March and celebrate some of the most memorable sketches from the charity TV marathon’s long history.

It is a standing only show and tickets are first come, first served from the BBC here with a maximum of two tickets per applicant. Attendees must be over 16.

The second show will be recorded on Thursday 16 March from 5pm. A BBC spokesman said: “Get your red noses ready, dancing shoes on and join us in the studio on Thursday 16 March as we record a spectacular musical performance by chart topper Tom Grennan plus an exclusive performance from Musical Hit Mrs Doubtfire. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity ahead of the big fundraising night of television.”

You can apply for those tickets via the BBC here. Again those with tickets won’t be in the main live audience but these recordings will go out as part of the main broadcast on Friday night.
