Co-op Live: how to get to Manchester’s new indoor arena when it opens in 2024- including via Metrolink

Co-op Live is set to become Manchester’s biggest indoor arena when it opens its doors for the first time this year. The venue has already announced a series of gigs for both 2024 and 2025. 

The opening of the new venue will be another feather to Manchester’s bow in terms of music venues. Co-op Live will join a selection of intimate O2 venues as well as the well established AO Arena in Victoria. The new venue is expected to be open in Spring 2024. 

When the arena opens its doors for the first time, thousands of fans from Manchester and further afield will be making their way into town. As with other venues, Co-op Live will be well connected with Manchester’s Metrolink Tram network. 

The new venue will be located at the Etihad Complex, next to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and the other features of the Etihad Campus. The nearest Metrolink stop is therefore the Etihad Campus stop. 

However, if it is a particularly busy day, Holt Town and Velopark stops are also within a reasonable walking distance. All three of these stops are on the same line and connect their local areas with direct services to Deansgate and St Peter’s Square. 

The tram stops are all located on the Eccles to Ashton-under-Lyne line. Transport for Greater Manchester’s announcement earlier this month about the return of a late running service may also benefit event goers. 

Extra peak services will run from MediaCity to the Etihad Campus until 8pm Monday to Friday and until 6.30pm on Saturdays. This change will help gig goers getting to the Etihad Campus from across Manchester.
