It's November, Christmas is fast approaching, and festivities are transitioning from spooky to sparkly, so it’s time to start thinking of the ways you can wrap yourself up in this year’s winter wonderland.
The holidays are never complete without a pantomime or two, which is why Manchester theatres are overflowing with some hilariously entertaining showcases this December.
Here are some of the most unmissable pantos and festive shows coming this winter.

9. Gingerbread Man: The Panto at the Lowry
Who doesn’t love some gingerbread during winter? This adorable pantomime will give you that and then some. Siobhan and Aaron Triplett of the Barton Theatre Company are bringing you this scrumptious show from January 12 – 14, so when the Christmas spirit starts to fade, you’ll have the perfect treat to sink your teeth into. Mr Bun’s little biscuit boy needs saving and it’s up to Merry Berry, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red to find and protect him from Sly Fox and BB Wolf. 10. Rapunzel at Pados Studio Theatre
From November 20 to December 9, a fairytale is unfolding in Prestwich which gives a modern spin on a classic. The princess Rapunzel is locked in a tower, dreaming of life outside it’s walls, when a hero with a hairdressing family climbs into her life and takes her on an adventure to discover her true identity. | Google

11. Fairytale of New York at the AO Arena
A true spectacle is on it’s way to Manchester for December 4 after wowing crowds in the West End and embarking on multiple sell-out tours. While touring the UK and Ireland, a talented international cast of singers, musicians, and dancers will take the stage at the AO arena to give a feel-good Christmas show, featuring all your favourite festive songs and Irish hits. The producers promise you’ll be singing, laughing, and dancing in the aisle during the massive production, which will not disappoint if you love Christmas time. Photo: Submitted
