Castlefield Bowl is another outdoor music venue that adds to Manchester’s portfolio. Each year it welcomes big names for the Sounds of the City series- and 2024 is no different.

In total, nine events will take place at the venue across July. The line-up for this includes Tom Grennan and punk rock star Avril Lavigne.

The venue welcomes big names to play each year, with Catfish and The Bottlemen, Courteeners and Noel Gallagher gracing the stage in the past. Thousands of fans will head to the venue this year for the summer series that kicks off on July 3. 

Located in Manchester city centre, by the Bridgewater Canal and not too far from the Science and Industry Museum, the venue is one of the more unique in Manchester. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the 2024 Sounds of the City series getting underway.

How can I get to Castlefield Bowl? 

The Castlefield Bowl is centrally located in Manchester and is easily accessible by public transport. This includes the Metrolink and National Rail.

For the Metrolink, the best option is getting off at Deansgate-Castlefield stop which has services direct from Manchester city centre. Several lines pass through the stop, meaning you can get to it from across the region. 

Deansgate station is a stop for National rail services from across the North West. Trains from other Manchester stations stop off at Deansgate, including Piccadilly and Oxford Road. 

Bus services stop off near to Castlefield Bowl, with the closest stop being Deansgate Station. The 255 and X50 services call at this stop.
