Officials have pledged to prevent a repeat of last night’s traffic chaos at the opening night of P!NK’s Summer Carnival Tour 2023 as the star takes to the stage at Bolton University Stadium for the second night this evening.

Bolton Stadium bosses say they are working closely with the relevant authorities in reviewing the traffic management plan in place ahead of this evening’s show, with a view to mitigating the issues that saw hundreds queueing for hours to get home.

Pink fans called the chaotic queues to exit the car park in the aftermath of her sensational knock-out Bolton gig last night “a joke” as they were left stranded for hours.

A spokesperson for the Stadium said: “Following an incredible opening night of P!NK’s sensational Summer Carnival Tour 2023, at which we welcomed over 35,000 people to the University of Bolton Stadium, we are aware that some concert-goers experienced traffic and congestion issues when departing the site.

“Working closely with the relevant authorities, we are reviewing the traffic management plan in place ahead of this evening’s show, with a view to mitigating these issues and improving the experience for all those visiting the stadium for tonight’s second concert.”

The US star kicked off the European leg of her tour at the University of Bolton Stadium - wowing fans with acrobatic feats, including ‘flying’ through the air. Some fans posted up videos of the singer spinning above the crowds.

Fans took to social media to gush about how amazing the spectacular show was but were left disgruntled when their attempts to get home saw them queueing for hours.

More than two hours after the show finale hundreds of cars were still stuck trying to exit the car park. With a limited train service running from the nearby Horwich Park station, many fans had driven to the concert to ensure they were not left stranded.

One fan took to Twitter to complain: Yup we got home at 2am. 3 hr journey instead of 40 mins. Do NOT drive if seeing Pink tonight. Loads of roads closed without any logical reason. No police directing traffic. @gmpolice @BoltonStadium what were you thinking?
