A Masters graduate from Manchester is one of 22 contestants on The Traitors, a brand new psychological game show on the BBC. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, contestants must play a game of deception, detection and trust at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands in order to win up to £120,000.

Among the contestants are The Traitors, who will attempt to murder one player every night while avoiding detection. It is up to the rest, known as  The Faithfuls, to figure out who among them are murderers and banish them from the castle.

The Faithfuls still alive at the end have a chance to claim the prize money. But should any of the Traitors go undetected, they will snatch the full pot.

Who is The Traitors contestant Aisha?

23-year-old Masters Graduate Aisha from Manchester is one of the contestants. When asked why she chose to apply for the brand new TV show she said: “When I was at university and in lockdown, my friends always said, ‘we think you’d be good on reality TV.’”

She added: “Also, I’ve gone to university, I’ve got a Masters degree, but I do come out with some silly things at times. I wanted to go on one of these shows to prove that I can do it and remind people not to underestimate me, that was one of my motivations.”

If Aisha is a Faithful or a Traitor is yet to be known, but she does have a game plan if she has to rely on deceit: “I think I’ve got a really good poker face, I’m ready to test it out.

“I’m willing to go all the way to win the game, nothing’s off limits. At the end of the day, we’re all here to have fun and have a good time.

“It’s an experience that you don’t really get in life, I’m definitely here to win the money. I’m not here to make friends with people so I’m willing to do whatever I need to do. Like I said, I don’t have a filter.”

Relying on her nosyness, which she describes as ‘too nosy for her own good sometimes’, Aisha is hoping to be able to spot the Traitors before it is too late if she ends up a Faithful. “I’ve got a very good gut feeling and I always go with that because it’s there for a reason.”

If Aisha wins the money, she is paying off her mum’s mortgage and treating her to a nice vacation: “She has raised me and my four siblings on her own and lives a very simple life.

“She doesn’t go on holidays, she doesn’t have a nice car, she doesn’t buy herself amazing clothes. She always puts us first and has provided for us.”
