Hide AdThey were formed 12 years ago in 2010, and have since go one to enjoy a great deal of fame, thanks to their hit songs including ‘Happier’ and ‘Pompeii’, which are the only songs on Spotify from the band that has amassed over 1 billion streams.
The band has collaborated with Marshmello, Alessia Cara, Craig David and more in their 12-year history.
The band initially began as a solo project by frontman Dan Smith, but later formed into a band as he recruited keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist and guitarist Will Farquason and drummer Chris Wood.
Their first studio album, Bad Blood, released in 2013 really put the band on the map as it entered the UK Album Chart at number, and included Pompeii, which peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.
At the 2014 Brit Awards, the band were nominated for four awards, winning the British Breakthrough act.
As of August 2021, Bastille has sold over 11 million records globally.
