The band were recently announced as a headliner for Reading and Leeds Festival 2024

Welsh rock band Catfish & The Bottlemen have had a somewhat quiet time of things lately. No tours or new music since 2019, speculation over their future was bubbling to the surface.

However, 2024 looks set to be a big year for the Llandudno group. As well as being announced as Reading & Leeds headliners for this year, posters have teased tour dates around UK cities- and they have been spotted in two locations in Manchester.

Catfish shot to fame with three studio albums in five years. This brought with it huge UK tours and festival performances and after a hiatus, it looks as though they could be about to get back on the road. Their last live show was at Neighbourhood Weekender in September 2021.

Fans on social media have said that the posters have been spotted in the Northern Quarter and opposite Manchester’s O2 Ritz. Most of the Manchester posters have been taken down, but they read ‘Thursday February 22’ along with ‘Doors: 5pm’ and ‘Showtime: 6pm’.

The official X account for the band tweeted an image of the poster, and fans on the mailang list have reportedly received an email with this date included. With a week to go until the key date, fans across Manchester will be keen to say what the big news is, although at this point it looks likely to be live shows/ a tour of some sort.

Catfish have played at many venues across Manchester, including the O2 Ritz and Manchester Academy. Their last Manchester show was in May 2019 at what was then called Manchester Arena.
