Manchester Airport's top tips for travelling this Easter as record numbers of passengers expected

The Easter break marks the start of the holiday season and up to 107,000 people are expected to travel through Manchester Airport each day during this period.
Manchester Airport has said that they are ready for the high number of travellers expected this season. They have prepared by ensuring that there are extra staff who are trained in a variety of roles so that they can quickly help if any problems occur.
Jennifer Byrne-Smith, Manchester Airport’s Customer Operations Director, said; “The Easter holidays mark the start of the busiest time of year for us so we’re well prepared and ready to deliver a great experience for our passengers.”
Additionally, she said; “But there are some things passengers can do themselves both before they come to the airport and while they’re here to make sure they have a stress-free trip.”

Here is the airport’s advice on how to have a relaxing start to your holiday:
Consider the time you want to travel carefully
Having flexibility with your dates can certainly help lower prices and get some bargains. If you are travelling with children make sure to check if their school holiday dates are outside of the usual holidays as this could help with finding cheaper prices.
Try to pack light
Save space by thinking in advance about items that you could buy at the airport or at your destination, such as beach towels and toiletries. This can help lighten the load of your luggage. Try rolling instead of folding your clothes to save extra space and prevent creasing.
Book parking and assistance early
If you need assistance whilst in the airport make sure that you arrange this at least 48 hours before your holiday date.
Leave enough time to get to the airport
To avoid missing your flight by being stuck in traffic, make sure you factor in any possible delays or diversions that may occur. It is suggested to get to the airport two hours in advance for short haul flight and three hours for long haul.

Try using day-before bag drop services
TUI, Ryanair, Jet2.com, easyJet, and Virgin Atlantic offer a free day-before or ‘twilight’ bag drop service on eligible flights. This allows you to put your bags in the hold luggage the evening before your flight so that you can skip the queue and go straight to security on the day of your travel.
Make use of the airport lounges
To make your experience more relaxing you could try Manchester Airport’s Escape Lounges which are available in all three terminals for £31.99 per person. This includes a complimentary bar and buffet.
Check out the kids entertainment
If you are travelling with children make sure to pack items such as toys, books and puzzles to keep them entertained during the flight. If you are departing from Terminal 1, consider using the Little Flyers Zone play area for primary school-aged children. Little Flyers Club will also be doing giveaways during the Easter holidays with stickers, booklets and crayons up for grabs.
