The 2022 Women’s European Championships get under way in England this month, with 16 nations taking part.

Matches are taking place at stadiums across the country, including right here in Manchester.

When is the Women’s European Championships 2022?

The continental tournament kicks off on Wednesday, 6 July 2022, with the first match taking place at Old Trafford in Manchester.

This is England v Austria, and this kicks off at 8pm.

The tournament runs throughout July with four groups of four sides, followed by a quarter final, semi-final and final which takes place on 31 July.

Which stadiums in Manchester will host matches?

Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, will host just one match of the tournament, and this is England’s opening match against Austria.

Manchester City’s Academy Stadium is also set to host three group matches during the tournament.

Which matches will be played at Manchester City?

Three matches will take place at the Academy Stadium at Manchester City, and these are all group matches.

The Group D matches between Belgium vs Iceland on 10 July, Italy v Iceland on 14 July, and Italy v Belgium on 18 July.

How can I get tickets?

The opening match at Old Trafford has sold out, but tickets are available through the UEFA website for the three matches at Manchester City.
