The 30-year-old lifted the UFC interim heavyweight title in the process having taken the fight against the feared Russian at just 17 days notice after champion Jon Jones pulled out of his contest with Stipe Miocic due to injury.

Now Apsinall wants a dust up with mixed martial arts legend Jones, and knows exactly where it should take place.

"Thank you Jon and just give me the opportunity, give me my dream fight,” said the third Brit to win a UFC title. “I've just achieved my dream so give me my dream fight, let me fight for my legacy please.

"I think we should to Tom Aspinall vs Jon Jones in Manchester. That is something special and I'm sure that UFC will be on board with that. That would be special."
