There are a whole host of former Football League clubs now plying their trade in Non-League football - but which of them has the highest average attendance this season?

This weekend sees clubs around the non-league scene promoting their cause with the annual Non-League Day initiative.

Created over 13 years ago by Queens Park Rangers fan James Doe, Non-League Day takes place each year during an international break as clubs around the country look to attract support from fans of Premier League and Football League clubs.

The last few years have been challenging for non-league clubs, with the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, cost of living crisis and rising energy prices all sapping income. For two of our local clubs, Oldham Athletic and Macclesfield, life has been particularly challenging as they look to move on from some of the darkest days in their history.

Despite the numerous challenges faced, both clubs have received remarkable backing from their support throughout the season and their average home attendances sit proudly alongside the likes of Wrexham, Notts County and Chesterfield.

ManchesterWorld assesses how both clubs’ average attendances compare to their rivals in the non-league game.
