Non-League Day: Date, Who’s playing in Greater Manchester, ticket offers & its importance

Saturday marks the 12th annual Non-League Day event which is scheduled in conjunction with the international break, while working alongside Kick It Out and Prostate Cancer UK.

The idea was created to help promote affordability in non-league football and give fans of teams higher up the pyramid an opportunity to get their football fix.

Greater Manchester boasts some of the best clubs not currently playing in the Football League and would benefit significantly from the support of those who regularly attend Manchester United and Manchester City games, while their players have a week’s hiatus.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of Non-League Day, including which Greater Manchester teams are at home and if any clubs have any ticket offers on.

When is Non League Day?

Non-League Day takes place on Saturday 26 March, with 14 teams in Greater Manchester playing at home.

National League:

Altrincham vs Aldershot Town (The J.Davidson Stadium) - 3pm

Northern Premier Division:

Atherton Colliers vs Stalybridge Celtic (Skuna Stadium) - 3pm

Hyde United vs Gainsborough Trinity (Project Solar Stadium) - 3pm

Northern Premier Division One West:

Ticket offers

The majority of teams in each of the above leagues have set prices for their admission into their grounds, however a select few use the event to offer fans exclusive offers on matchday.

A new National Lottery scheme was announced last week which allows fans who are eligible to purchase a ticket the opportunity to benefit from this.

If in possession of an activated lottery ticket, football supporters can bring a friend for free at Altrincham’s game with Aldershot, as long as they purchase a match ticket for the fixture valued at £17.

In England’s 10th-tier, if season-ticket holders of Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic want to attend a game on Saturday, then they can go to Atherton Laburnum Rovers’ clash with Bacup for free, while West Didsbury & Chorlton will be presented with the league trophy after their game with Alsager.
