Outspoken pundit and Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has urged current Red Devils star Marcus Rashford to be a 'leader' in the United dressing room, citing his age and the amount of time he has spent as a regular starter at Old Trafford.
While Rashford is undoubtedly one of United's most talented and cherished players, his performances this season have been notably lacklustre. So far, he has scored just four Premier League goals over the course of 20 games, with only two assists to boot. Additionally, his conduct has come into question.

It has been a disappointing season for the Red Devils in general - but Rashford's consistent poor form has been one of the most contentious issues thus far. Nevertheless, Ferdinand believes he needs to take charge and set an example for his teammates.
What did Rio Ferdinand say in the interview regarding Marcus Rashford?
Speaking on the FIVE Podcast in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Ferdinand said: "Right now, Marcus [Rashford] is the guy that should be leading that team. There's a lot of noise around the club. [He is] one of the experienced players now, keep that noise down. That's your duty, you're one of the leaders now.
"Like it or not, [because of] your age and the time you've been there. You're one of the leaders. Again, I think you have got to be aware enough that when you're not doing well, as a club, as a team and you're not hitting the standards that we know you're about, personally, you've got to be aware [of that]."
