What has been said already?

Several clips from the interview were released ahead of the broadcast, with Ronaldo making some incendiary remarks. He has claimed that manager Erik ten Hag and senior board staff members are trying to force him out of United, and that he doesn’t respect the current Red Devils manager.

Ronaldo also said he felt ‘betrayed’ by the club and criticised them for a lack of development at the training ground since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013. “Nothing has changed. Not the pool or the jacuzzi, even the gym, even some points, the technology...the kitchen, the chefs, which are lovely persons,” he said.

“They stop in time which surprised me a lot. I thought I would see different things, like technology, infrastructure, but unfortunately, we see many things I used to see when I was 20, 21, 23, so this surprised me a lot.”

Ronaldo then claimed last season’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick was not a ‘coach’ and added the Glazers ‘don’t care about the club’ and use it only for ‘marketing’. The Portugal international also took a swipe at Wayne Rooney, claiming he ‘looks better’ than his former team-mate, and levelled criticism at Gary Neville.

"It’s easy to criticise,” said Ronaldo. “I don’t know if you have a job in television that they must criticise to be more famous, I really don’t understand. I think they take advantage of [my profile] because they are not stupid. It’s hard when you see people who were in the dressing room with you criticising that way. They are not my friends.”
