Manchester City and Manchester United have very different campaigns so far, but how has VAR impacted their seasons? The two sides went into the World Cup break separated by six points and three positions, with City in second and five points behind leaders Arsenal and United in fifth, three points behind Tottenham with a game in hand.
Both sides will be hoping they can make up ground over the coming weeks as they return to action and tackle congested fixture lists. But in the meantime, we have rounded up what the Premier League table would look like if VAR wasn’t being used. The table comes courtesy of ESPN, who calculate it by taking each game where VAR overturned a decision, taking the first decision of that game and using the on-field decision to see how that would have impacted the result.
You can see the full revised table below to see where City and United would rank.
