Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United with 'immediate effect', according to the club. The news comes hot off the heels of a controversial interview he had with Piers Morgan where he slammed the club and other issues.

Ronaldo has now had his future decided, with United deciding to thank the 37-year-old for his services and insisting that everyone at the club is focused on building a strong future under Erik ten Hag.

United’s statement reads: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
