When Manchester United and Man City can start summer transfer business - deals expected

The summer transfer window is nearly open for clubs across the country to begin signing and selling players.

Manchester United and Manchester City can officially sign players from Friday, ahead of a busy summer at Old Trafford in particular.

The domestic football season has finished as all eyes turn to Euro 2024 and the Copa America for this summer’s football fix. However, whilst fans will be glued to international action during the off-season, clubs will be finalising their transfer plans as they prepare for next season.

The summer transfer window opens very soon, ushering in months of speculation, gossip and rumours as clubs across Europe aim to strengthen their squads ahead of the new campaign. Here, we take a look at all the official transfer window dates.

When does the summer transfer window open and close?

The Premier League have revealed the summer transfer window opens on Friday 14 June. It will run for eleven weeks before closing on Friday 30 August. The transfer window in England will run in conjunction with the transfer windows in Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

When does the winter transfer window open and close?

When the summer transfer window shuts on August 30, clubs will have to make do with their current squad until January 1, 2025. They will have just less than five weeks to complete any transfer business before the window closes on February 3, 2025.
