Manchester United will be looking to make it two wins in as many games when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

The match, which kicks-off at 8pm, will see Ralf Rangnick’s side try and put a dent in their rival’s title ambitions, while pushing for a top four finish this season.

United beat bottom of the table Norwich City 3-2 on Saturday, thanks to a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo - the 60th of his career.

As for Liverpool, they come into the game off the back of a 3-2 FA Cup semi-final victory against Manchester City, while also being unbeaten in their last 20 league fixtures.

The sides head into the game three places apart in the table, with the Red Devils fifth in the league, while Jurgen Klopp’s side sit second.

United has the better record against Liverpool in the Premier League. In their previous 59 meetings in the competition, the Red Devils have won 28 of them, while Liverpool have 17 victories and honours have been even on 14 occasions.

The last time the two clubs met was in October at Old Trafford when the game finished 5-0 to Klopp’s side.

There were several changes made to the Red Devils’ starting 11 against Norwich with Diogo Dalot, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Anthony Elanga replacing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Nemanja Matic and Marcus Rashford.

Fred is amongst five United players who were unavailable for the clash against the Canaries on Saturday, with Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane also absent.

An update as to whether any of these five names will be fit for the game against Liverpool will be likely addressed in Rangnick’s press conference on Monday afternoon.

As for Klopp’s side, the German is expected to have a fully fit squad to choose from, with Diogo Jota returning to face City in their FA Cup win.

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League, with coverage of the game starting at 7pm.
