West Ham eyeing 'cut-price' Harry Maguire deal as £85m Man Utd target makes 'clear' transfer decision

Your round-up of the latest Manchester United stories following Sunday's dramatic win against Liverpool.

Manchester United booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday after beating Liverpool in dramatic fashion. Erik ten Hag's side were 2-1 and 3-2 down but extra-time goals from Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo secured a 4-3 win and a last-four clash against Coventry City.

That victory has sent United into the March international break on a high and Ten Hag now has the best part of two weeks to prepare his side for a crucial top-four race. In the meantime, ManchesterWorld has rounded up some of the latest stories coming out of Old Trafford.

Hammers eyeing Maguire

West Ham United are thought to remain keen on Harry Maguire and could try their luck with a cut-price deal for the defender. The Sun reports they could try and do a deal for somewhere between £15-20million.

United accepted a £30m bid from the Hammers for Maguire last summer but they pulled out after growing impatient as the 31-year-old negotiated a pay-off to leave Old Trafford. Manager David Moyes is still keen to take the England international on board and hopes to bring the fee down, given Maguire will have 12 months left on his contract come summer.

The centre-back has been crucial for United in a season plagued by defensive injury woes and has arguably been the most consistent option at the back. But it is unclear whether he fits into Ten Hag's plans and could be one of more than a dozen exits.

Yoro transfer decision

United have suffered a blow in their reported pursuit of Leny Yoro with reports suggesting he wants to sign for Real Madrid. Spanish outlet Marca reports that the defender is 'very clear' about his desire to play at the Bernabeu next season.

The 18-year-old has attracted the interest of Europe's top clubs during what has been an excellent season with French side LOSC Lille, but could cost any potential suitors around €100m (£85.4m). Few will be able to come close to that but Madrid may hope a clear request from the player can bring that price-tag down.

Central defence will be a priority area to strengthen in the summer with only Lisandro Martinez all but guaranteed a place in the squad next season. Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane are both set to leave as free agents, while Maguire and Victor Lindelof could both be sold.
