Sir Jim Ratcliffe has agreed to buy 25% of Manchester United for around $1.3bn (£1.03bn). The British billionaire will take control of football operations. Ratcliffe is set to also provide $300m (£236m) to invest in the club's stadium, Old Trafford.
The announcement finally comes after 13 months since the club's owners, the Glazer family, revealed they were considering selling to 'explore strategic alternatives'. Rival bidder Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani withdrew his offer to buy 100% of the club in October.
The question is now how rich does this deal make United? Let's take a look at the Premier League owner wealth update after the takeover news.
