'We couldn’t..' - Thomas Tuchel reveals reasons behind Bayern Munich exit amid Manchester United links
The latest Manchester United news
Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, amid ongoing links with the Old Trafford role.

ManchesterWorld reported in March that Tuchel was among those being considered by the Red Devils if Erik ten Hag departs at the end of the season.
And Tuchel has been explaining his exit for Bayern following confirmation he would not be staying. Earlier this month, The Telegraph reported that Tuchel is in the frame to take over at Old Trafford, while the Daily Mail claimed the German is keen on the role.
Tuchel told a press conference on Friday: “This is my final press conference here – we stay with the agreement that we had in February.
“The feedback from recent weeks was the foundation for us having a discussion to stay and continue together, but we couldn’t reach an agreement. I am not going to elaborate on details and motivations.”
Tuchel joined Bayern in March last year following his departure from Chelsea. During his time in the Premier League, Tuchel guided Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2021 and three domestic cup finals. The Blues finished third in Tuchel’s only full season in charge at Stamford Bridge during a turbulent period as Roman Abramovich left the club.
The 50-year-old’s coaching CV includes lifting silverware at Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern. Other candidates for the United manager’s role - assuming it becomes available - include Graham Potter, Roberto De Zerbi and Gareth Southgate.
