The Manchester United forward has scored in four consecutive Premier League games after a slow start to life at Old Trafford.

Ramsus Hojlund has warned Manchester United’s rivals that the team are improving and the connection between the attacking players ‘is growing’.

United struggled for goals in the early weeks of the season and failed to net more than one in nine of the opening 12 league matches. But the team have looked more efficient in recent weeks and have scored 15 in the last seven.

The Red Devils continued that run on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over West Ham United, with Hojlund grabbing the opener and Alejandro Garnacho netting two in the second half. The duo, along with Marcus Rashford, are now scoring regularly after a slow beginning to the campaign, and Hojlund thinks the team are finally finding their groove.

“A month ago there was a lot of talk about us not scoring enough goals but we are both young - I just turned 21 and he [Garnacho] is still 19,” the Danish striker told Sky Sports. “We are getting better and better every day and you can see the connection is growing between us - every forward: Me, Garna, Rashford, Antony, Bruno [Fernandes]. It is good.”

That’s four in the last four league matches for Hojlund, after failing to net in his opening 14 league appearances. The forward turned 21 on Sunday and marked the occasion with a spectacular opener as he cut inside and powerfully fired the ball beyond Alphonse Areola with his weak foot in the 23rd minute

"It was very good," he said. "It is always special to play on your birthday - I had the same last year. Today, of course, with a win, a very good win [meant it was special]. A goal from both me and him [Garnacho] and I'm happy.”

Asked to explain his air guitar celebration, Hojlund said: "I have spoken about doing celebrations with my friends and they told me to do a guitar in the summer. I hadn't done it yet, but today was the day."

The win sees United leapfrog West Ham and move into sixth place in the table. The Red Devils are eight points off fourth-place Aston Villa, but could close that gap next week when they travel to Villa Park.
