‘Wants’ - Fabrizio Romano makes Cristiano Ronaldo Man Utd claim

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to focus on Manchester United following months of transfer speculation, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Portugal international has only started one Premier League match for the Red Devils this season after finding himself falling down the pecking order following the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo scored 24 goals in all competitions last season, however he was consistently linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer. The 37-year-old had made it clear that he wished to leave United for a second time, though it proved difficult to find a club willing to take him and his hefty wages on.

Hide AdWriting in his BetVictor blog, Romano said: “There’s still no update on Cristiano Ronaldo, as his agent Jorge Mendes was trying to find a solution during the whole summer but Thomas Tuchel blocked a potential move to Chelsea, while Bayern and other European clubs like AC Milan decided not to proceed. Cristiano wants to focus on Man United now.”
Ronaldo remained in Manchester past the transfer deadline but now faces competition for a spot in United’s starting line-up. Marcus Rashford has looked good as a central striker in recent weeks, while Anthony Martial is also favoured by Ten Hag after an impressive pre-season.
As for Ronaldo, he is yet to score from open play and has not started in the Premier League since the disastrous 4-0 loss to Brentford. Despite Chelsea failing to bring Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge in the summer, they are currently favourites to snap him up in the January window.
