Hide AdErik ten Hag's side were ravaged by injury throughout the campaign and it certainly impacted their consistency and cohesion, though it also felt like a convenient excuse at times when performance levels on the pitch often weren’t good enough.
Despite all the doom and gloom, some United players still enjoyed impressive individual campaigns, something that has been reflected amongst the nominations for the Premier League Fan Team of the Season.
United trio Andre Onana, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes have all been nominated for the squad, though it seems unlikely that any of them will be included in the final team.

Hide AdOnana is on the 10-man shortlist to take the goalkeeper slot alongside the likes of Jordan Pickford, Ederson and David Raya, while Dalot is shortlisted in the full-back position with competition Ben White, Kyle Walker and Alfie Doughty. Fernandes also faces an uphill struggle to make the team given he is nominated in the midfielder category alongside the likes of Rodri, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
It isn't impossible for them to be included though, with the team to be determined by votes from fans. You can cast your vote for the Premier League Team of the Season here.
