Manchester United will reportedly consider Thomas Tuchel if they decide to part company with manager Erik ten Hag anytime soon.
After a poor start to the new season, Ten Hag is under fresh scrutiny at Old Trafford but might have done enough to ease the immediate pressure on his position with a goalless draw against Aston Villa.
The argument to sack Ten Hag is complicated by the lack of clear candidates to potentially replace him, with former Bayern Munich and Chelsea boss Tuchel one of the few compelling options.
Tuchel has experimented with a number of different formations during his managerial career, with 4-3-3 variants during his time in Germany and France, while he preferred a 3-4-2-1 during his spell at Chelsea.
He would have a lot of different options at his disposal at United, and here is one way we think he could line up if he were to ever get the job:

6. LWB - Luke Shaw

7. CM - Kobbie Mainoo
Mainoo has to be included in the future plans regardless of who is in charge of the first-team. He could form a good partnership alongside Manuel Ugarte. | Manchester United via Getty Images Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images

United invested heavily in Ugarte during the summer and there will be a pressure to get the best out of him from whoever is in charge. | Manchester United via Getty Images Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images
