The latest Manchester United transfer news with January window now open

The January transfer window is now open but how much business will Manchester United do this month?

The Red Devils are restricted by financial impositions ahead of the mid-season market, but there is hope that they could complete a cut-price deal or loan moves if the right player becomes available.

Boss Erik Ten Hag, prior to the busy festive period, was quizzed about the club's January plans.

The former Ajax manager has spent over £400m since he agreed to take charge of the 13-time Premier League champions in the summer of 2022 following an underwhelming spell under former interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

Pressure continues to mount on the Dutchman after a poor run of results, including the weekend defeat to Nottingham Forest. Fans will hope for some January recruits.

What has Erik Ten Hag said about Manchester United's transfer plans?

Speaking in December, the United boss said: "The current squad I am happy, as we get our players back, we have a good squad. A lot of the way it went in the first season, the reasons behind because many players were not available. I am sure when all players on board it looks different, Casemiro, [Lisandro] Martinez, [Mason] Mount, we will be much stronger after the window.”
