The worlds of the Premier League and Eurovision are two that many may imagine would never collide, but Swedish hotshots Marcus & Martinus are huge Manchester United and Chelsea fans being touted for glory in Liverpool

The twin 21-year-olds come from Norway but are currently in the running to represent Sweden when the event comes to Liverpool later this year. Tickets for the highly anticipated song contest went on sale to fans this afternoon as Ticketmaster crashed.

Sweden has become the country to beat at Eurovision in recent history with six wins to their name, including that of ABBA in 1974 and Loreen with worldwide hit 'Euphoria' in 2012.

The country will decide its representative for Eurovision 2023 at the Melodifestivalen final on Saturday and it looks to be a two-horse race between Marcus & Martinus and former winner Loreen who is vying to recreate her glory from 11 years ago.

Eurovision superfans have earmarked either of the two acts as potential winners of the whole competition and bookies have followed that thought by placing Sweden as early favourites to win in Liverpool at 5/4.

Marcus & Martinus first broke onto the scene at the tender age of 10 on the Norwegian singing show Melodi Grand Prix Junior. Since then, the twins have toured the world and released a string of successful albums and singles.

The pair are in the mix to represent Sweden in this year’s contest since the songwriters of their track ‘Air’ are all Swedish. Marcus & Martinus have also based their work from Sweden in recent years with their label and PR group centred there, although there is no Eurovision rule about someone from another country representing a different oe.

When not serenading their 1.3 million followers online, the duo spend the majority of their time at home on the football pitch and in front of FIFA.

Marcus & Martinus are EA Sports ambassadors and split their footballing allegiances between Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.

Every year the two are tasked by EA Sports to pick their Team of the Year, uploading the video for this year's selection in January. It wasn't without heated sibling debate as Martinus fought for the inclusion of Chelsea star Thiago Silva before Marcus argued that "PSG is doing better than Chelsea" for the reason to include Marquinhos.

"I still think Thiago Silva should have got his chance to be in Team of the Year, but it's okay," Martinus settled.

The brothers' allegiances cropped up again as Marcus fought for the inclusion of Red Devils fan to the frustration of his Chelsea-supporting twin who rolled his eyes.

Talented players on the pitch too, both were part of the youth set-up at Rosenborg BK in Norway, a club that holds a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team.

They now play for Mosjoen IL as wingers where they enjoyed cup success earlier this year.
