Sofyan Amrabat has promised Manchester United fans that he will ‘give everything’ to help the team succeed.

The midfielder arrived on transfer deadline day on an initial €10m (£8.85m) loan, with an option to buy from Fiorentina next summer. Amrabat missed last weekend's match against Arsenal as he wasn’t registered in time, but travelled to United’s Carrington training base on Tuesday and was presented as the club’s latest signing.

The 27-year-old also conducted a short interview with club media, where he spoke of his excitement at joining the Red Devils. “I want to show it on the pitch, but I can promise that I will give my best with everything; every day, every minute, every second. So, it is the only thing that I can say now,” he explained.

“I am really excited to be here, I really can’t wait to start and I promise I will give everything that I have to help the team and make the fans proud.”

The move to United also sees the Moroccan link up with Erik ten Hag once again. The pair worked together at Utrecht for two years before both departed the club in 2017. Six years on, and they’ve teamed up again in Manchester, and Amrabat revealed what a huge impact Ten Hag had on the formative years of his career.

“It [the first run in the team] was very important because I was very young," United’s new no.4 said. "I was 18, 19 years old and he [Ten Hag] gave me the chance to play in the first team with Utrecht. “We had a fantastic time, a really good season. I learned a lot from him. So maybe he's one of the most important people in my career for now.”

Amrabat is expected to make his United debut after the international break, when the Red Devils host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on 16 September.
