Six realistic deals Manchester United could complete in final week of window

Manchester United could realistically complete six more deals in the January transfer window before deadline day next week.
Ruben Amorim hopes to add both a wing-back and forward to his side in the final week of the window, but only has until next Tuesday to get any deals done.

Hide AdUnited hope to sign Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu to address their issues at wing-back and are expected to submit a revised bid for him this week. It is understood they have already agreed personal terms with the player but must still reach an agreement with his club for his signature.
Lecce want €40 million for the youngster and are prepared to wait until the summer if his valuation is not met. United retain an interest in Alvaro Fernandez Carreras as an alternative and are adamant they will not overpay for Dorgu. If they sign a wing-back, then Tyrell Malacia will be allowed to leave on loan, with a view to a permanent exit at the end of the season.
United also want to sign a forward, though there is nothing advanced at this stage. A loan move for a player like Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku could yet be agreed, but the permanent addition of a proven star like Victor Osimhen would require a player to be sold to finance a deal. United appreciate that selling an academy graduate will be the easiest way to address their tight financial situation, but while they would like to sell Marcus Rashford they understand few teams can pay his wage demands this month, never mind a transfer fee as well.
It means United could reluctantly allow Alejandro Garnacho to leave before deadline day after Amorim admitted he does not have an obvious role in their new tactical set-up. The Portuguese head coach does not want to sell Garnacho but would sanction a move if it allowed him to sign a forward better suited to his 3-4-2-1 system. Chelsea and Napoli are both interested in the youngster.

Hide AdUnited are proactively looking to send Harry Amass and Dan Gore out on loan before the deadline, having already allowed five academy stars to leave the club on loan this month. United are not looking to send any other academy youngsters out on loan but aren't ruling out last-minute exits if the right opportunity arises.
