The protracted takeover of Manchester United has dragged on and on. Now it appears however that we are heading to a conclusion - of sorts.
It seemed this week that, after some love from Qatar superfan David Beckham, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani had taken pole position to buy the club. However, he dramatically pulled out of the race on Saturday night. That left Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the clear to finalise a deal with the Glazers but it has now emerged the INEOS boss is to purchase a minority stake, which would keep the hugely unpopular Americans in charge. The Nice owner does however want 'sporting control' and views this as the first step to a full takeover.
Somehow, a conclusion from the painstaking process still seems a long way off. ManchesterWorld looks at how the net worth of Sir Jim compares with the rest of the league.
