Serie A side 'not giving up' on signing Man Utd star who has created a £20m stalemate
Man United are hoping to sell several players before the end of the transfer window in less than two weeks.
Man United have spent over £200m this summer already, and Ruben Amorim will be delighted with the business that they’ve done. However, if they want to make any more additions this summer, they will need to sell some players.

Amorim has a ‘bomb squad’ as such, with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia all expected to be sold before the end of the window. However, it could be difficult for several of the names, both due to wages, Man United’s value, and poor performances while at Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho has been the subject of considerable transfer interest due to his relatively-low valuation compared to what everyone knows he can become. He is expected to cost around £20m to a buying club this summer.
Roma ‘not giving up’ on Sancho
One of the clubs most interested in Sancho is Serie A side Roma, which has been in talks with Sancho and United for several weeks now. It has been reported previously that the Italian club are prepared to meet Man United’s valuation of Sancho, but not his wage demands.
However, it seems they desperately want their man, as reports are now claiming that Roma are willing to meet Sancho’s demands too. Sky Sports Journalist Dharmesh Sheth claimed that United have agreed in principle a £20m bid for Sancho, but despite the winger’s continued rejection to the move, Roma aren’t giving up.
Sheth said: “Roma have not given up on striking a deal for Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho. Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is the main driver of a possible deal – he is a big admirer of the player.
“Roma have made an offer worth £20m, which United would agree to in principle. However, like the Hojlund deal, the final decision will rest with the player. As it stands – Sancho wants to explore other options.”
What are Sancho’s other options?
The winger has attracted plenty of interest this summer, but for the most part, his wages have been an issue. Juventus pulled out of a potential deal, as they couldn’t afford him, but there remains interest from two other clubs.
Borussia Dortmund have been credited with interest in bringing Sancho back to the Signal Iduna Park, although it is understood they are yet to make a bid for the English attacker, and would likely prefer a loan to buy move.
Former Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also said to be keen on reuniting with Sancho by bringing him to Turkish side Besiktas. It would likely take more to convince Sancho to move to the Turkish league rather than Europe’s top leagues, but the draw of playing under the manager who bought him at Old Trafford could be enough to tempt the 25-year-old to take that step down, and play under his former boss.
