Sofyan Amrabat may have to continue in defence against Brentford, with all three left-backs unavailable.

Erik ten Hag confirmed Manchester United defender Sergio Reguilon will not be available for Saturday’s Premier League game against Brentford on Saturday.

The Spaniard has missed the last three with a minor knock, and it was hoped he would be an option at left-back for the visit of the Bees this weekend. However, speaking in Friday’s pre-match press conference, Ten Hag confirmed Reguilon has not shaken off the injury in time.

With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia also out, it means Sofyan Amrabat is likely to deputise on the left of a back four once again. The midfielder has played in that role over the last three games but has failed to impress, and was at fault for Galatasaray’s third goal on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, the United boss said Antony is ready to start this weekend. The Brazilian returned to the squad in midweek after a brief break from first-team involvement, following allegations of domestic abuse which have been made against the player. Antony has always denied the allegations and with no charges brought forward by the police, it was confirmed on Monday that he is available for selection once again.

Antony came off the bench in the latter stages of the midweek Champions League encounter and Ten Hag insisted he could be an option to start out wide against Brentford. With Jadon Sancho unavailable, Ten Hag started Bruno Fernandes out right in midweek, an option he’s unlikely to use against Brentford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Lisandro Martinez and Amad are also missing this weekend, while it’s not clear with Kobbie Mainoo could be back for Saturday’s game.
