'Is different' - Ruben Amorim names unusual training change at Manchester United ahead of Everton fixture
Man Utd travel to face Everton in the Premier League fixture on Saturday lunchtime.
Ruben Amorim says he has seen an 'improvement' in Manchester United training over recent weeks amid their inconsistent performances on the pitch.
United have been ravaged by injury as of late and were without 12 senior players when they travelled to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend. Amorim was forced to name an inexperienced bench for the trip to North London that included eight players who had never made a competitive appearance for the club before.
Amorim has been boosted by the return of three players for the weekend trip to face Everton but has also been encouraged by a recent change on the training ground. Speaking ahead of their final trip to Goodison Park, the United head coach claimed training performances have improved and that their sessions at Carrington have even sounded different as of late.
Manchester United training 'sounds different'
United players took part in a team bonding night out in Altrincham during midweek as they attempted to lift morale after their recent defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. First-team stars and staff were spotted heading to Lane 7 Bowling Alley for an evening of games, before they attended a team meal at Jardim Rodizio Brazilian Restaurant.
Asked about a team bonding trip in midweek ahead of the trip to Everton, he told reporters: "For me it’s more important in training, what I see in training is they are improving and creating relationships. Even the sounds of the training is different. We have to use that in the game and see it in the game and take that step. We are bonding and we understand the we want to play, but in the game we struggle a lot."
When pressed on what he meant by a change in the sound of training, Amorim added: "The sound is when you making an exercise you feel the sound, people are talking and asking for the ball and give directions. If you spend your life as a football player even the sound of the training is important."
