Ruben Amorim hit with major rejection as 'dream' summer signing 'says no to Man United' move

One of Manchester United’s priorities this transfer window is signing a new striker to boost their threat in front of goal.
The Red Devils are eager to improve on their disappointing goal return last season, having found the back of the net just 44 times in the Premier League. Only Everton and the relegated three teams scored fewer times than United as they finished 15th in the standings, raising a lot of concerns to be addressed this summer.

Man United snubbed by Viktor Gyokeres
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Gyokeres has ‘no intention’ of signing for United this summer. Instead, his favoured destination is Arsenal as the North London side prepare for another Premier League title charge next season.
In the words of the report in Portugal: “Viktor Gyokeres has said no to Manchester United. The footballer’s agents have informed Ruben Amorim’s club that he is no longer an option for the forward.”
Arsenal are now viewed as frontrunners to sign the Sweden international following his sensational season with Sporting. The 27-year-old contributed a stunning 54 goals and 13 assists in all competitions last campaign, including 39 goals in 33 league appearances.

The Portuguese boss, who worked with the striker before his move to Old Trafford, had been keen on a reunion and identified Gyokeres as his ‘dream signing’ for the summer window.
Where will Viktor Gyokeres move to this summer?
Arsenal have reportedly had an opening offer rejected by Sporting, which has left Gyokeres ‘frustrated’. The player reportedly had a gentleman’s agreement in place with the club, allowing him to leave for £60 million, significantly less than his £85 million release clause.
However, information from TBR Football says that Sporting claim such an agreement never existed. The report also claims that Gyokeres believes he will be playing football in the Premier League next season, amid intense interest from around the world.

“He did make it clear from the start that a deal with Saudi Arabia’s Pro League was not a consideration despite them making an approach this month.
“The player’s representatives are working hard on his future, but there is no deadline here – it could be this month, but likely July I am told before something is agreed, but there is no panic. They are calm.”
